Villa SKRBINA

Villa Škrbina is a unique house of this type in Slovenia. It is over 100 years old, but almost fully re-done in the original style. It is made of solid rock, with thick walls, yet big windows and spacious living quarters and bathrooms.

Villa Škrbina is located in the village of ŠKRBINA. One of the most beautiful villages in the Slovenian KARST region. This village is still, like life was 100 years ago and it still has only 80 houses. The inhabitants are all locals, the houses are all old, and the people are extremely friendly.  There is a sense of safety and calmness anywhere in the village.

In the village itself there are 3 very good small vineries, witch are open all year around for quests, who what to try or buy their wine.

Housing

The villa itself offers 4 bedrooms, each witch itch own bathroom and a very big living area, with a big kitchen, dining room and living room, with an old steel Slovenian fireplace. In the ground, under the house is a 150 year old vine room, with a big dinning table, ideal for parties and gatherings. The vine room is also fully stocked with local vine and food. You can consume everything on the system of a „mini bar”, meaning you pay what you used when you leave.

For extra pleasure, the house includes a massage pool, sauna, massage shower, a big garden with furniture and an outdoor grill, as well as TV, VHS, DVD, Hi Fi, with a free videoteke; witch includes over 100 movies and some dozen CDs!  The house also has a computer witch offers you free internet connections

Near our house in the next village of KOMEN witch is only 3 km. away, there is a gas station, big supermarket, pharmacy, bus station, flower shop, health care center with a medical doctor, hair dresser, 2 banks, post office, restaurant, 3 bars, etc.

Location and local in sights

Very close to Škrbina is the oldest, still active Slovenian walled town of Štanjel. Within 25 km. Are also 2 gambling paradises such as Sežana and Nova Gorica, as well as the only LIPACAN (white horse – they have been bread for over 1000 years in the village of LIPICA, near Villa Škrbina) horse farm in the world. 30 km. away you can find the UNESCO protected ŠKOCJANSKE JAME and POSTONJSKO JAMO. The nearest beach in Italy is only 15 km. always; the same distance is also TRST, the caste of Rihenberk in Branik, etc.

Its rays are infatuated with the beauty of the Karst region planted with olive groves and vineyards, with peach orchards and cherry trees. Some of the most beautiful underground worlds of our planet lie below their roots. There are more than six thousand karst caves and sinkholes in Slovenia, and ten of these treasuries of limestone masterpieces created by disappearing karst rivers have been adapted and opened for tourists. Living room with TV and video, kitchen and garden with garden furniture can be shared, all free of charge.
Jacusy can be used for only 5€/per day. You can also use wine cellar for parties, with extra charge 25€ per night.
